Following an old railway line through an ancient gold mine in a desolate part of New Zealand.

It was pitch black.

The old track was drenched in fresh water that seeped through the solid rock cavern above me.

My boots squelched as I tentatively plodded through the darkness.

I was torchless. I was trusting the old track…

And then I rounded a bend, and a mile ahead of me, there was the tiniest speck of light.

And as I kept walking, the light became brighter, until I was out of the tunnel, alive in the most beautiful forest, bathed in sunlight.

I’ve never forgotten that speck of light at the end of the dark tunnel…

And in our world today, where there is some darkness, we can be like that speck of light.

We shall be light with our children.

We should be bright with our clients.

We should radiate hope to our friends.

We could illuminate the path ahead for strangers.

And where should we offer this light?

In real life. On social media. Wherever there is darkness, there we must be.
