Gross versus Post

On social media this week, I posted this to my Instagram.

It got virtually no love, zero comments.

I didn’t care at all, though.

Our strategy for helping solopreneurs and Realtors get clients from social media doesn’t rest on creating “viral posts on Instagram.”

So I moved on, and then later in the day, I accidentally checked my Threads account.

I am never on Threads; it’s simply connected to my Instagram, and I got the fright of my life.

My post had been automatically posted to Threads also.

It had 650 comments and 10,500 likes.

And so I moved on, because getting viral engagement on one social media post is not part of our strategy either.

Virility is not important. What matters is Gross, not Post

When people beg, borrow, or steal one of my high engagement posts on social media, i don’t actually give a sh*t

P.S: I’ve started swearing in all my posts, so you know that it is the real Geoff writing and not some robot pretending to be me.

It’s also why I put the PS in the middle of my post

When people take one of my posts that has generated hundreds, and sometimes even 1,000 comments, they think they’ve found the golden egg.

But there is no such thing anymore.

You are thinking of it all wrong if you want the magical post that goes viral.

In 2026, it’s all about GROSS, not POST.

One egg won’t feed your family, but a whole basket of eggs will.

You don’t need a single post to get loads of attention; you need a series of posts over time that build you a powerful circle of highly connected people.

You need more great posts, not just one viral.

I’ve been testing this.

Across platforms over the past few days, I’ve had 1500 plus comments.

It’s your gross engagement over time that will pay huge dividends.

Organic social isn’t dead; you just need to think about it differently.

Hit me with a heart on this post if I am making sense.

Geoff. x

P.P.S: For our paid subscribers. I’ve dropped 3 of my other very popular posts this week, below.
