For a while, I started to believe that wanting was wrong…
We all have different parents, but in my experience, nearly all of us have a claw that wages against our deepest desires.
An implanted voice that tries to teach us:
That chasing after desire is inherently immoral.
That you should wait and see what life offers you.
In 2016, I ripped that claw out when my father passed away, and I began the process of rejecting every ill-founded belief that waged a war against desire.
It’s not wrong to want more.
It’s a deeply human thing to have ambition.
It’s a wonderful thing to grab hold of your own life and to look at the years that you’ve given and to say…
Let me make the most of every single second of living.
Let me desire the fullest, richest, and most passion-filled life possible.
Let me chase “aliveness” in every single dimension of my human life.
Let me want…
This is not about living an undisciplined life.
In my years of coaching, I have always found that it is the lack of desire that leads to unbreakable apathy and indiscipline.
Which brings me to this post today, and me boldly telling you about what I have built and what I want to see happen.
I am building a movement.
I believe there are thousands of Modern-Day Pirates hiding in plain sight.
A Modern Day Pirate is a person brave enough to say yes to desire…
