The Boy With Very Tight Trousers
A story for those who were never small—only constrained.
The small boy wore pants that his crafty mother lovingly sewed for him.
Although they were made with love, they were much too tight and far too short, crack riders, and oh, how the other children on the playground laughed at him.
Still, that child had a spark in his eye that no one could steal.
No darkness, no loss, no abuse, no failure could ever fully dampen the spirit that he had been given.
He walked with such hope.
No matter how many times he was knocked to the ground by a foolish bully, he rose undeterred.
Yes, he cried tears. Yes, he endured moments of hopelessness, but he held tight to an unshakeable sense of destiny.
He would do something great with his life.
The shorts he wore were not too tight or too small; he was just made for bigger things, things that even his own mother could not see.
And as you read these words and listen to this story, the small boy wonders if there is still hope in your heart?
A sense of destiny inside of you? A deep knowing that you also were made for bigger things.
No matter the darkness.
No matter the mockery and disdain of others.
No matter your current financial situation.
Despite your failures…
You know, deep within you, that this next season of your life is the one where you fully transform and grow.
I write my words for these people.
For the human beings who know they are not defined by their ill-fitting clothes.
