I am a bit fucked off with myself at the moment. An angry pirate maybe.
Have you ever gained something good and then lost it?
I think this is why I feel like slapping myself silly.
I spent the last two years, getting myself into incredible shape… I was tracking so well.
Strongest I’d ever been in my life at 50.
I had visible abs for crying out loud.😢
Slowly though, over the last few months I’ve allowed things to slip.
My eating has gone to shit. My exercise has been half-hearted. I have felt disconnected from my goals.
The other day, I downed this massive bar of chocolate on my walk home so I would not have to share it with kids.
I think my future lies in being one of the Teletubbies😂
This is way too much self reflection for a Facebook post I realise this.
It is frustrating to achieve something good and then lose it though.
Loads of people were sending me messages to say that my fitness journey had inspired them.
There is a sense that I’ve let those people down also.
Here’s the rub though, this is not a beat Geoff up post at all.
This is me, telling you that I am ridiculously committed to being truthful and transparent.
If I share my wins then I’ve got to also share my challenges too.
Success is never a straight line.
No one wins all the time.
Sometimes we fuck up, fail and have to start over.
And that is okay, the most important thing for me is to not stay in a place of defeat.
To get up.
To go again.
To fix my eyes back on the horizon.
I have a session with my trainer again this afternoon.
I am going to double down on my goals and get in the best shape ever.
Whatever you’ve lost, you can find it again too.

This is completely normal. Just get back on track. Maybe in a more moderate way.
